HSMAI: Hotel revenue pros to mingle with digital marketers in Berlin
On Oct. 9, hospitality executives will descend on Berlin for the HSMAI Digital Marketing and Revenue Management conference. Given new advances in technology that invite greater collaboration between the two disciplines, this one-day conference has been organized around the theme, “Two Worlds Collide.”
“We’ll be looking at how digital marketing and revenue management are coming closer together,” says conference organizer Ally Dombey, co-founder of London-based Revenue by Design. “Increasingly, people have to understand both sides of the equation.”

Conference goers will tackle issues such as how revenue managers can harness the digital space to maximize profits. They’ll also examine what advancements in technology mean for future leaders in these areas and the implications for setting performance benchmarks. The slate of speakers includes senior executives from companies such as Google, TripAdvisor, HolidayCheck, Melia Hotels, MyHotelShop.de, IDeaS and ReviewPro.
ReviewPro CEO RJ Friedlander will participate in the afternoon roundtable session “Can revenue management link seemingly intangible marketing disciplines to profitability?” He’ll address how hoteliers can benefit from social web analytics and the importance of listening to real-time social media.
The event – to be held at the Ellington Hotel in Berlin – marks the first collaboration between HSMAI Europe and HSMA Germany, Dombey says.
