Arcadia Residence earned a Global Review Index online reputation score of 98.8% – exceeding the overall GRI of 81.6% for all of Prague’s three- to five-star properties, for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2013.
In second and third place, respectively: Aparthotel City 5 with a GRI of 98.2% and the Residence Agnes with a GRI of 98.1%.
ReviewPro aggregates online reviews and social media mentions for about 7,000 hotels around the world including chains such as Kempinski, Iberostar, Melia and Louvre. To calculate the GRI for hotels (both clients and non-clients), ReviewPro aggregates the overall score consumers give a property on more than 140 sites and normalizes them to offset the varied scoring systems. It then uses an algorithm that places higher value on newer reviews to best reflect consumers’ actual perceptions. Clients rely on the GRI for a variety of reasons: to track their property’s performance, benchmark against rivals and even to determine a general manager’s bonus.
The Prague study is the latest in a series of reports based on ReviewPro’s cutting edge analytics. ReviewPro recently issued reports on cities in Vietnam and Norway.
For Prague’s diverse group of hotels, ReviewPro also used its semantic analysis technology to discover the key hospitality concepts that travelers most often discussed in a positive – and negative – light.
The concepts that consumers cited positively in reviews most often during the period examined were “value,” “modern,” “location,” “shuttle” and “fast.”
Their worst-rated concepts: “noise,” “curtain,” “smell,” “lift” and “TV.”
When it comes to rating Prague’s hotels by cleanliness, review writers gave the highest marks to a slightly different group of hotels. Arcadia Residence achieved an unusual 100% GRI, followed by a tie for second place between Residence Agnes and the Golden Well boutique hotel (99.1%), and in third place, Hotel 16 (98.3%), which is near Wenceslas Square.
